I'm using it is a back up and surge protector for an HD TV. It just started making a clicking noise once every 5 seconds. What's causing this and how do I cure the problem?

Thanks for the response. I have been using this Model for 1.5 years with no problems or clicking sounds. The clicking noise coinsides with the green light on top flashing each time the noise occurs. Any other suggestions????

i have attached the manual for this UPS. can you match it up to a symptom listed in the manual? it just sounds like it is going to battery briefly which could be electrical noise. adjusting the sensitivity via the software would by my suggestion. you'd need a Windows computer attached to the UPS with the RJ-45 to USB cable to do this which i can help with if you are able to do it.

when the UPS is clicking, is it still outputting power to your TV? do you see any LEDs flashing on it? have you heard any noises besides clicking? is it doing this CONSTANTLY, once an hour, etc?
clicking usually indicates transfers back and forth from battery which can indicate an electrical noise issue or THD (total harmonic distortion). It could also be caused by something else on the same circuit. you could try changing locations of the UPS (such as a different room/circuit) to see if it still clicks a lot. depending on what we find, you may need to attach this UPS to a PC via a USB to RJ-45 cable so you can adjust the sensitivity to stop the UPS from transferring frequently.
overall, i wouldnt recommend the use of this particular UPS for an HD TV just because its not designed for this type of high end equipment. it is designed for smaller PCs and routers, etc. if you want, you can check out our [AV product line|http://www.apc.com/products/category.cfm?id=15]. if it is serving your needs for now though, thats fine.
let us know about the above questions so we can help out further.
