I picked up two identical units from circuit city when they were going out of business about a year and a half a go and they have worked great in my home network with my other two 650 pros that i have had for years.
I had a leak in my house and had to move my computers so i had to unplug the batteries for a few days, today i went to plug everything back in and one of my batteries didn't want to come back on.
I poked around the forums and found the instructions that said to unplug the batteries for a few mins then try again to see if that would help fix the issue. The unit then did turn back on but when it went to switch to battery on the initial start up like normal for i guess a quick test, it would immediately start being and the red over volt light would come on. After that i would unplug the unit and plug it back and again it would not turn back on. Reseting the unit by unplugging the battery, then plugging it back in a few mins later would;d cause the same results again.
Since i have two matching units i decided to try to swap the batteries around to make sure it wasn't the unit that was faulty but the batteries. Upon switching the batteries the issue seems to be the batteries them selves since the good battery works well in either unit.
The serial number on the units are as follows:
bb0820000274
bb0820000488
My question is are the batteries under warranty or do i have to buy new batteries myself?

The model numbers are Back-UPS XS 900
I have two of these units, the good battery came from one of the units. Any unit that i test with the good battery works correctly, when i use the same unit with the bad battery it will turn on and try to go into battery mode for a moment like they usually do and will throw an over volt red code and turn off.
I can try the self test on that unit tonight but im pretty sure the same issue is going to happen.

Omar,
I will wait for your reply tonight and would respond back. The model number of the UPS can be found at the back or underneath the UPS. Let me know if you can see some numbers like BX900 or BX900R or something else. I will check the warranty status of your UPS on my end and would let you know how to proceed. Can you send me a PM me the following?
* Company Name / Account Name
* Your Name / Position
* Phone and E-mail Address
* Physical and Billing Address

It seems like my problem has retured, not getting the over volt but i was getting the replace battery light and now one unit wont come back on. Was wondering if the battery itself was still under warranty.

Omar,
I've checked it out on our system and I am happy to tell you that they are both still within warranty. Please let me know thru PM where can I send the replacement batteries and are these being used for home or business?

Jon
Thanks for the quick reply, i replied to your email with my shipping address.
To answer your other question, i use these units with a few other units that i have here at my small home office. I do tele commuting and my wife is into photography so we have a few machines here and like to have that added layer of protection.
