My UPS has started just shutting off randomly and frequently. The Overload LED will flash and the UPS will have a steady tone. Pressing the power switch silences the tone for a few seconds. Is this an indication of a bad battery? or something even more serious
Model# BX900R
Serial# JB0715020602
Can I tell by the serial # if this thing is still in warranty, I don't have a receipt anymore

Hello Vargus,
From the serial number itself, it tells us that it was manufactured o the 15th week of 2007. Our BackUPS product line is covered with a three year warranty. Are you experiencing this symptom even if there is no load attached? Do you see the UPS go to battery before giving this kind of tone and LED indicator?
Unfortunately, the UPS needs to be replaced if the unit goes to overload even if there is no load attached to it.
