Hi All,

I have a Back-UPS XS 700U connected via USB to a PC powered by Linux.

I tried to disable the UPS alarms by using apctest program. It was successful. The status of the alarm changed to disable and when I cut off the power, the UPS detected it, reported to the pC and the shut down procedure went well until the pC turned off. During this process, I heared no Beep any more from the UPS. Only when the UPS killed its power , I heard one Beep.

I was happy that everything went well. But when I returned the power back to the UPS, and cut it off again, I heard again the Beeps during the shut down process . So it seems it is enabled again.

Has anybody similar experiences or any idea where the problem is?
