Back-UPS Pro 900 AVR and Error Light Flashing

Hi,

My Back-UPS Pro 900 UPS is indicating an error which I cannot identify from any manual. The AVR indicator on the LCD is flashing together with the System Fault indicator. The UPS also then beeps 3 times every minute. No fault code is shown on the LCD display. When the AVR indicator is flashing, the indicator for low or high input power does not show.

When powered on all the systems checks are completed without error. About a minute after system checks are completed the above error starts showing up.

Input power is fine, and batteries have been replaced recently.

Any help will be appreciated.

Over temperature On Battery - UPS has exceeded the over temperature threshold. Note: The UPS will beep and the red LED will illuminate till the internal temperature reaches the normal range for 5 minutes before the UPS shuts down.

Same happened today with a “new” replacement unit. Is it correct that the cause is over-heating? Is the unit defective? At 25ºC the battery should not overheat without being working (I have had many apc in south Spain with A LOT higher ambient temp with no problems at all)
