Hi,
I recently bought the Back-UPS ES 700, I left it plugged in to charge for the recommended 16 hours. I've now arrived at my location in Antigua and have my kit plugged in. I turned it on and the light is green but every 30 seconds it beeps 4 times and the green light goes out and then returns to green once it's finished beeping.
I had a look at the manual and it said it's using the battery as well but it is plugged into the mains. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Sarah,
Do you have the full model number of the BackUPS, found on a white sticker on the bottom of the unit? Could you also confirm the voltage at the wall outlet that you're plugging the UPS into? If the UPS is on battery while plugged in, it's most likely a case of the voltage being "out of range", and the UPS goes to battery to compensate.

Hey...
So, the mains power voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 60 Hz here.
MODEL NUMBER: BE700G-UK

Thanks Sarah - so mains voltage/frequency would be compatible, which means it's most likely a case of the UPS not liking the power at the wall, or the circuit breaker being tripped. The breaker is on the side of the UPS to the left of the power cord, if it's popped out you can press it back in to reset it.
You could also try to lower the sensitivity of the UPS - plug it into the wall, turn the UPS off, then press and hold the power button for ~10 seconds until the power LED starts flashing. Press the power button until the LED flashes green (green is for low sensitivity, red is for medium, and green/red alternating is for high). This will widen the UPS's acceptable threshold and hopefully keep it online. If it remains on battery even after lowering the sensitivity, then there might be something wrong with the voltage at the outlet - voltage distortion or something similar that the UPS is seeing as a problem and switching to battery to compensate.

The breaker wasn't popped out and it's still doing it after setting it to low sensitivity... So it's obviously the voltage here as I've tried different power outlets and I checked the bulbs and they're 120v...
I've spoken to production who are now trying to source a transformer for me, so fingers crossed!
Thank you so much, you've been a massive help!
