Hi
I have a Back-UPS ES 700 (BB700-UK). When I connect it to the mains it beeps constantly with the power light lit steady green. This then occurs even when the mains power is removed and only stops when the battery is disconnected. I have looked in the manual ASTE-6Z7V9Q_R1_EN.pdf but this condition (constant tone, steady green power indicator) is not listed as an error condition. If I connect a device to the UPS (to either battery-backed or surge protected only outlets) it does not get power.
I have tried two different batteries, a new official APC battery and a YUASA of identical spec. I have also tried charging the batteries externally with a CTEK smart lead acid charger before replacing it in the UPS. None of these have changed the behaviour.
I cannot install Powerchute (PCPE_3.1.0.exe) as when in this condition the UPS is not detected through the USB connection.
I have seen a similar post on this forum and have tried the recommended process but it did not work.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hi,
A constant tone would indicate an internal component fault. Back-UPS are not designed with user replaceable components except for the battery / batteries. If you have tried the reset procedure listed in the linked post and that did not resolve the issue the UPS should be replaced. If under warranty you should contact local support for assistance.
