Hi there
My Back-UPS ES 300 is reporting 0% battery charge, despite being on mains power. The status is showing as 'ONLINE LOWBATT' but there is no alarm sounding, nor is the 'Replace Battery' light on.
Sounds like I should replace the battery but I wonder if there is a problem with the UPS itself (and therefore I'd be better buying a new unit). Any thoughts?

On 27/5/2017 12:43 AM, Bill said:If the battery is reading less than 12.5 it is bad which seems to be the case based on the information APCUPSD is showing NOMBATTV : 12.0 Volts.
Actually, NOMBATTV is Nominal Battery voltage. That is however many cells in the ups x 2.0v and is calculated rather than measured. So my SUA3000 shows a NOMBATTV of 48V with a measured BATTV of 55.4V. His showed a NOMBATTV of 12.0V and a BATTV of 12.1V. Either way, 12.1 is way too low.

Hi,
That unit is 5 years old so it is time for a replacement battery. If you look at the bottom of the unit the bar code sticker should show the actual model to be BK350i. The replacement battery is part number RBC2. You can find the battery at http://www.apc.com/us/en/tools/upgrade_selector/index.cfm or from a local partner.
If you pull the battery and check it with a DC volt meter a good battery would read around 13 volt. If the battery is reading less than 12.5 it is bad which seems to be the case based on the information APCUPSD is showing NOMBATTV : 12.0 Volts.
