I have a one week old BX1500M. When it was initially plugged in, the battery showed empty and was flashing. After 12 hours of charging, no change. I found the solution on line, but I don't recall what it was or where I found it, but the battery showed about 2/3 full. It has been fully charged for several days. I went to switch out my old UPS, and when I plugged the BX1500M into the outlet, same thing, blinking empty battery. There is no load attached to the UPS, it is plugged into the same outlet on a dedicated circuit that it was when it showed fully charged.
The fix was pretty simple, but I can't find it. Any ideas?
Thanks

In doing a little digging, it appears that the UPS does not recognize that the battery is indeed there. As I said, it was working correctly before unplugging and plugging in back into the outlet. There is no power at the "battery" outlets if I unplug the unit. The battery is fully charged (26.5v) It's a simple slide in battery, so I am assuming that there is a wiring/connection issue inside the UPS. Is the basically a DOA unit?

I would encourage you to submit a service request with APC Technical Support. So they may first track this specific issue along with offering a break fix or RMA of the unit.
You’ll need the purchase receipt, serial number, and any fault codes if present or a description of the problem.
In the interim you may try the following break fix to see how the unit behaves.
Brain Dead: Remove AC Mains from the unit. Disconnect any connected loads. Remove the battery cartridge. Press and hold the power button until you hear a click / beep. You may not hear anything at all either.
Insert the battery cartridge, apply AC Mains, power on the unit. Does the unit behave differently or the same?!?
Let me know what you see and observe.
NOTE: If you have not installed APC Power Chute Personal Edition (PCPE) software do so now. Once installed and connected to a Windows computer system. See if the software detects any active faults / declares any error codes. If so you may relay the same to APC Technical Support when submitting your service request.
Let me know how everything turns out. 👍

I added some info that doesn't seem to be appearing. I checked the battery, it is fully charged (23.6v), so it must be something internal. I have not connected my PC to it yet because I don't have any confidence in the unit right now, so no, the software is not installed. I have done the battery removal and reset previously and there is no change.

APC sent a new unit and the battery felt like it had a more positive connection when inserted. The new unit appears to be working properly.
