Purchased 20 Feb 2011: Original Batteries.
Before I purchase batteries I want to see if I should. There are some odd symptoms:
It is (quite) possible that a new battery is needed, but the voltage cycling on/off state cycling and being unable to carry a load is baffling. The bottom line, do I need a new battery?

Hi Arthur,
With the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like there is an internal issue with the unit itself, not the battery. A bad battery would not affect the AC voltage readings or frequent clicking like that. With the unit being at least 6 years old, it is near end of life anyway (expected life is 7-10 years), I would recommend unit replacement.
