Bought BX1000G new in box at Staples and took it home - unboxed, connected battery, plugged in wall- see 120v in 120out indicators on panel- see battery charge level on panel. No power out on the battery backed up side - power coming out on the just surge side, but all the out power appears to be from battery - battery charge showing a depletion going on but no charge seems to be happening and nothing is getting powered up from any of the battery back up side of plugs.
Does this unit just need to be returned for a different one ?
Tried turning the power control on and off and saw the leaf icon show and go dark per the directions, but no change in the lack of BBpower plugs.
Wanting to use this unit for HD TVs TIVO and alarm clock - not a computer set up - is it too computer specialized ? Or just a dud ?

With the unit turned on and plugged in on a good power source, attach a load on the battery side of the UPS and then unplug it. See if the load would turn on/ off on the battery side when it is running on battery.
