BR900GI not in use.

This was originally posted on APC forums on 6/24/2013

I have a BR900GI connected to an iMac and an external HD , Printer , router and a scanner.

I Intend to be in vacation for 30 days and won't be using these items in that time period.

DO I need to shut down  the  BR900 ?

if so, does the  preferences delete  or stay as I configure them ?

thanks.

I'd suggest turning the UPS off (which does not erase settings or preferences) and leaving it connected to AC power so that the battery can remain charged. This way, the battery stays charged the whole time but if there is a power outage, the UPS does not unnecessarily run on battery while nobody is there to use the iMac, printer, etc.

THanks.

Is the BR900GI protect the Connected devices even in a shut down position ?
