Hi
I have a BR900GI connected to my server with the USB cable running apcupsd.
I notice if I hold down the power button for 6 seconds and force a self-test, I get this output when I run apcaccess:
LASTXFER : Automatic or explicit self test
NUMXFERS : 7
XONBATT : 2015-01-18 19:49:30 +0000
TONBATT : 0 seconds
CUMONBATT: 77 seconds
XOFFBATT : 2015-01-18 19:49:40 +0000
LASTSTEST: 2015-01-18 19:49:30 +0000
SELFTEST : NO
The thing is, if I leave the UPS to its own devices, it doesn't seem to run the self-test. Or, apcaccess is not picking up on this, because the "LASTSTEST" will sit at the current date forever.
I've left it a month or so and it didn't show that a self test happened.
I thought the default was every 2 weeks, is there any way this might have been turned off somehow?
It has worked in the past and apcaccess logged the automatic self test, but it seems to have stopped doing that.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks Bill
I will try that
I have also tried lowering the POLLTIME and ONBATTDELAY parameters to make apcupsd poll the UPS more quickly, just in case it's missing the selftest notification from the UPS

Hi,
It is possible that the selftest interval was switched off. Stop Apcupsd service/daemon and edit apcupsd.conf. Remove the # (pound sign) on the line #SELFTEST 336, save the file, restart the apcupsd service / daemon.
Below is the default settings in apcupsd.conf
# Self test interval in hours 336=2 weeks, 168=1 week, ON=at power on
# SELFTEST 336 168 ON OFF (default = 336)
#SELFTEST 336
