I've been using BR550GI for couple years now and it works fine all those years. Recently it was time to replace the battery, so I did.
The UPS have a PC connected to its Master outlet, a 1st monitor on its battery backup outlet and a 2nd monitor on its master-controlled surge only outlet. The UPS passed the self-test and with full 100% charge and 158 watts loads, the battery shows 16 minutes of battery time is available.
Normally when the power goes out, it will switch to battery so that I can save my work and shutdown the computer gracefully. But, now when I did a test by unplugging power from mains, the UPS did not switched to battery power and my PC and monitors were turned off.
I unplugged the battery and plugged it in back and test it again still the same results.
Powerchute says my battery backup is operating normally. In the performance tab, it says there are no events to report at this time.
Any idea what the problem is? I'm hoping this is a known issue, or someone has experienced this before.
Thanks in advance for any input.

If you are using PowerChute Personal Edition, you can go to Run Self-Test under Monitor System. Once you are on that screen, there is a button that you can click that says "Replace Battery Date". If clicked, it would ask you to confirm the battery replacement date which is usually the date that you've clicked the button.

Hello Aizal,
I am sorry that you are having an issue with your back-ups.
First, the monitor that is plugged into the surge only side, will not be supplied with battery backup power.
Did Powerchute log that power outage of when you pulled the plug?
Did you change the replace battery date in Powerchute when you replaced the battery?

Hello Shannon,
Thanks for the reply. This is no longer an issue.
I've done all the thing like you said before this. All equipments are plugged into the right socket, battery date updated.
The issue went away after I took out the battery and re-sit it in again (for the 4th time), making sure both (+) and (-) firmly connected.
A battery backup test afterwards proved to be a success.
I'm not sure why before this it does not work although I've checked the connection and everything else. But, as long as it is now work, I'm a happy chap.

I have a question regarding your reply to the original poster. How do you change the replace battery date in the Powerchute software? I have never done this and do not see a way to do it in the software. I am having the same issue as op by the way but have not had a chance to "reseat" the battery but will try that now. Sure hope that works as the unit itself and the powerchute software are not indicating there is a problem with the battery so it should be providing power.
