BR1500G shutdown unexpectedly and now shows no battery message

Woke up to find the BR1500G had turned itself off for no apparent reason. Turned it on and it showed the battery depleted. Was chirping, but looked like it was charging. Used software to silence the chirping noise and let it charge. After 12 hours a pop-up appeared that stated the battery was not connected. Unplugged USB and reconnected and there is no change. Unplugged from power everything connected shuts off. It appears as if the battery just died without warning.

The battery icon on the display is flashing and appears to be empty and display shows 0 events. Software has no events. Shows a battery test passed 12/29, but current battery status is "unknown" as is remaining charge.

It is currently running with a few things connected, just not acting as a battery backup.

Purchased 11/3/2015 through Amazon, so should still be under warranty. What needs to be done to get this resolved?

Update to this...checked software and it showed everything at 100%. So I ran a self test to see what it would do. The UPS ended the self test with a could not complete error and then shut itself off. Everything attached immediately turned off. The unit would not stop beeping even after unplugging it from the wall. Had to pull out the battery to get it to stop.

Now it is plugged back in  and shows a flashing battery symbol with an X inside and next to that a long bar that is empty.

Need to get this resolved.
