Hello all,
I just got this UPS and I'd like to get some expert opinion on how to best connect it.
My setup is the following: https://sketch.io/render/sk-a3a8a0280e08d1d6c1b9b142ac0185cc.jpeg
I basically have a NAS connected to a wifi router, both go to power outlet. The router gets its juice from a wimax Internet setup where I have an antenna on top of my roof connected to a PoE which then goes into the router. PoE gets power from 220.
My main objective is to put the UPS to protect my NAS. It would be a secondary benefit if I can handle to maintain my Internet active during power outages without compromising safety.
I think I can do two things:
Is my understanding correct? Is there a way to keep my Internet up during outages & protecting from surges from the antenna? Perhaps this is all 'bs' since I'm missing some key factors.. 🙂 How would you go about this?
Any other general gotchas?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello Vinay,
Yes, so basically the idea is to break the CAT6 going to the antenna with a APC-ProtectNet. This will allow to connect PoE+Router+NAS to the BackUPS (and not even need to break the dataline since the APC-ProtectNet should take care of that.
However, if any more gotchas are needed please, let me know. Especially if my initial assumption is wrong and there is no need to protect other devices connected to the UPS output if one of the UPS output device has an external surge.
Thanks!
