BN600 Battery issue

I have a BN600 UPS that I am having some issues with.  It had been a couple of years since I put a battery in it, and the power light was flashing, so I decided to replace the battery.  I got a genuine APC battery, RBC17.  After installing it I allowed it to sit with nothing plugged in for 24 hours to let it charge fully.

My issue is when I plug my Samsung laserjet into one of the battery back up outlets and I power up the printer the unit turns off (at least the green light goes out) and a solid alarm tone is sounded, and goes off until I hit the power button.  It does not do this when I use on of the surge only outlets. only the battery back up ones.  Does it sound like I got a bad battery, or does it sound like my unit has gone bad?

Thanks in advance!

Yes. A constant tone will indicate an overload state.

John,

Laser jets  usually draw too much power for a battery backup unless it is a commercial / industrial unit

Your battery  backup can only supply approximately  600 watts

A Laser printer can draw 1000 or more watts on startup

Your battery backup battery is ok if it can run a 100watt lamp for about about 6  minutes or more

You'd have to download the user guide for specifics on that particular unit.

It certainly could however
