I'm planning on buying an UPS for my new NAS (Synology DS411j). My main point is, that the unit must be silent. In tests I read this unit is silent, as there are no fans - on the other hand I read in the description, that the "Audible noise at 1 meter from surface of unit" is 40 dBA - what from my point of view is unacceptable.
Could someone owning one or knowing about this clarify this to me?
thx in advance
cheers

i will see what i can find out
EDIT - after checking, 40dB represents the internal audible alarm and not the nominal dB of the unit. Thus, you should hear barely anything when the unit is operating online normally. on battery, you may hear the slight hum of the inverter and the audible alarm, but nothing more.
