My (fairly old) BK350EI has developed a strange fault. Normally it works fine (I believe the battery is good enough) but occasionally it switches to battery mode and bleeps and then switches back to mains again after only a few seconds. After a few more seconds it switches to battery again and the cycle repeats. To avoid the battery becoming exhausted I typically power down the connected load (a Dell desktop + printer) after ten cycles of battery/mains switching.
If I then power the BK35EI off completely and leave it for say 15 minutes I can power it back on and all is well again, typically for a few months. I think what is happening is that some sort of main disturbance triggers the initial switch to battery, but the UPS then seems unable to recover and instead goes into the oscillation I have described. What can I do about this, please?
Any help much appreciated.

As I suspected, but thanks anyway. I have purchased a replacement as they are now quite affordable (and will come with a new battery!).

Hi Chris,
This definitely sounds a bit odd. What I would recommend you do is to change the operating thresholds which may be triggering the unit in the first place. The procedure for sensitivity adjustment can be found on within the following manual.

Thanks for that suggestion but I tried this the first time that the problem occurred without (ut would seem) fixing the problem.

If you've adjusted the Sensitivity to it's lowest settings and this is still happening, there's unfortunately nothing more you can do.
It may be time to replace unit.
