BE750G Brand New Battery problems

We've just bought a brand new BE750G UPS product. When we connect the battery and plug the UPS to the wall adapter, the product emits a constant tone & a red light flashes. In the manual it says a disconnected battery may be the issue, but we've connected the battery. Can someone please help?

PS. We've returned this already once, this is the second time we've got it.
