I just purchased a brand new BE600M1 UPS to replace an older APC UPS I had. I also downloaded the latest powerchute software for it. I've hooked up the UPS, and connected the USB cable to my computer, but it constantly disconnects and reconnects via USB. It's driving me crazy. One minute Power chute says everything is fine, then next it says it can't see the UPS, then a minute or two later it's back to fine. I never had a problem with the old UPS, and have no problems with any USB devices. So what's going on and how do I fix it? Did I maybe get a bad UPS?

Are you seeing this problem on all USB ports on the computer?!? Have you disabled all the power save / energy star settings for that specific USB port?!?
What are the results using PCPE vs PCSS software?!? You may find there are no problems with PCPE disconnecting vs PCSS.

I've tried all USB ports, I have disabled power savings on all USB ports, and I see the same problem with PCPE and PCSS. I didn't have this problem with my previous UPS, but replaced it with a bigger model.

Just to be clear you’re using the supplied USB Data cable included in the new system?
If so, can you try another USB (Data) cable and report back the results. Also, if you have another computer can you install PCSS software and report back if you see the same problem.
Insure you only connect the USB Data cable when the application says to do so.
