We just bought a brand new BE550R (deciding to upgrade from an older 500VA APC) & when we plugged the computer into the battery backup, it sparked & now the system won't even POST.
When you plug it into the wall, the fans just spin. I tried swapping with a KG PSU, same results. I stripped everything off including memory ... no change.
I'm reasonably sure that knocks is down to motherboard &/or processor.
(Mobo is an ECS 848P-A ... but I think that all motherboards are supposed to beep if no memory is installed, right?)
I plan on talking to support in the morning (can't do that now, so I'm talking to you guys! hehe) ... in the meantime, anything else that I can try?
How is APC on honoring their warranties? Am I screwed, or are they likely to replace/repair the mobo/proc that got burned up by using their product?
Thanks in advance for any insights or tips on handling this!

Thanks so much!
I am just now getting back online (my other system decided to get a virus at the same time that the other one shorted out), so I'm about to contact support.
Thanks again!
