Hello,
I'm experiencing change in behavior of my APC Back-ups ES 550. When I power off the unit, appliances connected to the battery backed-up sockets stay powered. This has not been the case until about week ago. Slave sockets power down correctly when master socket (PC) gets powered off.
Also, previously when I powered on my unit, I could hear slight hum from PSU of my computer while unit performed self-test. This also no longer happens.
I get no errors or warning form the unit after start and power back-up function seems to work ok.
Should I be worried and is there any way to have backed up sockets to power off after unit powers off again?
Best regards,
Michal

Hi,
When the unit is powered off there should be no AC flowing from the Battery/Surge outlets. If that is happening and the unit is under warranty you should contact local support for assistance and possible replacement.

Hi Michael,
When the back-ups is completely powered down you should only be getting power from the outlets labeled surge protection. The battery backup + surge outlets should not be providing power. This is not a user changeable setting. Have you changed anything in your configuration since this started happening? Maybe take a picture of how you have everything plugged in and I can take a look at it for you.
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,
no I have not changed anything. I have PC and display plugged to backup sockets and sound system to surge-protected slave sockets, which has PC as master. When I shut down PC, sound systems gets power down, but when I power down the Cyberfort unit, PC and display are still powered on. I can take picture when I get home, but it will only show what I just wrote. Should I contact warranty/repair service then?
