Here's the setup:
I have a small project studio, and one of the musicians in the group says that all the audio equipment in the room should be running on the same breaker, and plugged into one of the two Furhman (sp?) power conditioners, in order to prevent any ground loop problems.
The instructions with UPS's say that you should plug them directly into a wall outlet.
What, if any, consequences do I face if the two APC Back-ups units are plugged into a power conditioner?
presently there are two units, a Back-ups 500 unit that powers a Power Mac G5, 2.5Ghz DP, and a Digi002, (a pro-audio interface.) as well as a CS 500 unit that powers two CRT monitors, (a 19" and a 17")
FWIW these provide adequate protection against the most common problem, blowing the breaker. giving me enough time to stop recording and save the session, (and by then the breaker has usually been reset.)
