APC Back-UPS R S 800
Had this one unit, that kept beeping at me a while back, i figured it was just the battery. I replaceded it over the weekend, and it was fine. green light was on. Came back to work over the weekend and the unit was completly dead and my computer was off. Ive tried powering the unit back on, but nothing happens.. no lights nothing! I held the power button down too, and it doesnt do anything. at one point it did manage to show "on battery" light, but that eventually went away. any thoughts, ideas or tests?

Ive contacted APC, they seem to beleive the unit has just died. its under warranty so im taking the steps to get a new one.
the problem is the unit would not power on with or without the battery. so it is something by fluke that the APC died when i got the new battery.
The battery was ordered from CDW.ca and it is a APC battery.
before replacing the battery, the beeping would be constent, and from what i remember 3 lights were flashing.

Alright well if you've already spoken to our tech. support phone service that's great, sounds like they took care of the problem.
And if there were multiple lights flashing it's indeed possible that the UPS was encountering a fault of some kind, and does need to be replaced. Good luck.

Where did you obtain the replacement battery for the UPS? Do you have a serial # on the replacement battery? Also, do you have a serial # on the UPS itself?
Have you checked to verify that the battery is fully connected again? Have you tried swapping the unit to a different outlet? When you got that "on battery" LED briefly, was the UPS plugged into the wall at that point or unplugged?
Do you remember what the beeps were like before you replaced the batter? Did any LEDs accompany those beeps?
It sounds like you could have gotten a weak or old battery, or it's not connected entirely or became disconnected somehow during the day, or...the UPS could be bad depending on what we find.
