Hi,
A continuous tone should indicate an over load state. If the unit does not have a load when started and the tone is present that indicates an internal fault and the unit should be replaced since the unit does not have any user replaceable components.
If the unit has been in service for 2 years or less it may be covered under warranty. You should contact local support for assistance.
