Hi all, this is my first message and I hope to receive useful tips about APC ups. I recently bought an APC Smart 1500VA ups (SUA 1500I), refurbished with new batterypack. I would know which software I have to install to monitor or manage a shutdown. My os is windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Thank you

Ok, in "Software & firmware" I see three versions: one for Solaris, one for Linux and one for Windows 2008. I download the last one which will be compatible with win7 *(x 64???)*

Hi,
Many thanks for your support and interest on APC products.
You can visit APC web site at www.apcc.com and - > Products -> look for software & firmware section where you can download the software for your O/S. Please select accordingly.
Thanks & regards

SUA1500I requires powerchute business edition which I believe is supported by Windows 7. the compatibility chart has not been updated yet though.

Thanks for prompt replies. Today I installed the software Powerchute Business Edition ( I previously unsuccessfully installed the Personal Edition because it is for the BACKUPS model only, I think).
The PCBE is 8.0.1 but I wonder if there will be a version 9.0 supporting win7 too. I had no luck in finding a version 8.5, free or not, (which also should support my os). A link to it would be very appreciate.

as mentioned, PCBE 9.0 free does support Windows 7, but the compatibility chart is not updated yet. I would go ahead and install that. and you're right, PCPE is just for Back UPS.

try this. 9.0 for Windows 7 will be available shortly on the website as a download so I mis-spoke before about the incorrect version.
32 and 64 bit can both use the 32 bit software.

Ok, thank you again. One last question, excuse me: I have to uninstall the 8.0.1 before installing 8.05 or not?
