Hi Team,
Rookie question here... we have several APC Smart UPS 5000s that power our network switches in telco closets... what happens if an APC fails for some reason, but there is no issue with input power? Does the power "byass" the APC and continue to power the network switches, or is power killed and the switches go down?
Follow up... if bypass is the answer, is there momentary switch over that may cause the switches to re-boot?
I have the units configured with network cards and can web to all of them, if there is a setting I should check.
Thanks!

Hi Joshua, The SUA5000RMT5U is a line interactive UPS with no bypass functionality, in the event of a system fault, there is a possibility that the load connected will be dropped. The batteries are hot-swappable though. Are you having any issues with this UPS?

Hi Joshua, The first thing you should check is the part# of the UPS you have to determine if they have bypass functionality in the event of a UPS fault. You can fnd the part# on a white sticker with bar codes at the back of the UPS or behind the front bezel after you remove them.

Thanks, the part number is SUA5000RMT5U. I searched the documentation at:
http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=sua5000rmt5u&tab=documentation
... however I didn't see anything indicating fault bypass one way or the other. Do you know if this part number is capable?
