After failing to update my UPS I managed to brick it. I get the power light and the screen lights up but it is blank. The network card is functioning, but it doesn't see the UPS. I now have a console cable and have been reading on the recovery procedures.
After a lot of reading it seems that I should have upgraded the firmware on the network card first?
I am running s NMC2 network card.
The steps I have so far are:
boot to BootMonitor and perform a factory reset
then upload the aos firmware and application module (not sure what that is)
As I have already messed things up, I though to check with this group on how to proceed before I do any more damage.
Any Help would be very much apprecated.

If the hardware is under warranty you should contact APC Technical Support to initiate a RMA.
If the hardware is (NOT) under warranty than you can search this site for possible options and action items to try.
If the system was powered down you have less than 1% chance of recovery.
If the system was never powered down and still remains in its current state of being none responsive (Bricked) than you have less than 5% chance of recovery.
A APC UPS Firmware update is the highest risk endeavour you can ever attempt or undertake! βοΈ
This is why it should only be done in warranty on the phone live with APC Technical Support.
All prerequisites and requirements must be in place and met before attempting the same. Even when all requirements are in place you still have a greater than 50% chance of bricking a perfectly working system! π€¦ββοΈπ
NOTE: The NMC should never be used to upgrade the UPS Firmware - ever.
