APC: Fair or Not Fair ?
At the recommendation of APC, I purchased a UPS - it "died" within the warranty period and APC did replace it at no charge
The replacement suffered the same, and that was also replaced, with a different model as suggested by APC.
Once again, the replacement died.
Today I again called APC to once again get a warranty replacement. This time, however, the APC representative reviewed the application and usage and determined that the UPS was the wrong one.
APC solution is for me to purchase a new LARGER UPS, at the current price, and APC will provide me $10.00 credit toward the new upgraded purchase.
My position is that APC should be responsible because they Originally and Subsequently provided me wrong information, wrong recommendation, on an inadequate UPS which ultimately resulting in UPS's failure.
While another solution could be my paying the difference between the 2 units but since during the time of each failure, until replacement was received, I was unable to use my computer equipment and for that reason alone I feel APC should assume the entire cost of the replacement Unit.
This is NOT an attack on APC -- I do have other APC UPS's -- SC 1000 units which function perfectly, and I will continue to buy APC products.
The actual price in question insignificant, but I wanted to know how others felt about this -- whether APC was being fair or not fair?
