Hi folks,
New here basically just to check on this problem. I have an ES 550 and just a few days ago it started to click more and more.
I read the posts and messages that say it's probably normal but can someone confirm that? It seems to click more in the morning than evening but I don't think that makes a difference. All I have plugged into it is one laptop that I like to have running all the time.
Just want to make sure I'm not gonna come home one day and find out I have no home any longer. get it?
Thanks for the help

Tex,
You can attempt to return the UPS to where you purchased it, and get another one. If you set that one to low and it's still clicking, that means there's excessive Harmonic Distortion (Electrical Noise) on the line feeding the UPS. It's possible that your older UPS had wider constraints, which Engineering may have found to result in more UPS failures due to passing through the noise, and therefore tightened the requirements on the new UPS's.

Hello,
A clicking unit is a common problem where power isn't exactly "clean" and may contain a distorted sine wave. You should take action to correct this, as the unit is actually transferring back and forth to battery, which, overtime will cause the battery to weaken. To fix this situation, you need to adjust the sensitivity through our Powerchute software. Please see previous threads that discuss this further.

Thanks, I never used powerchute before because i keep the apc so far from my computer i didn't want another cord going across the room.
I changed it to medium sens though and hope that will fix it. I'll know 2nite or tomorrow when it notoriously has been waking up the last few days and sounded like chattering teeth.
Question, i don't need to leave it plugged into my computer right? I have unplugged it and moved it back to where i usually keep it.
Thanks

Correect, you do not need to keep Powerchute connected, you just need to change the setting, which is then saved to the unit.
I hope this helps!

Just wanted to drop a line saying thanks, that definitely did help. I haven't heard a peep (or a click) in days.
Thanks

I have the exact same unit and tried moving the sensitivity to "minimum" but it is still is clicking constantly. I never had this problem with my old 650V
Is there anything else I can try?
This unit isn't even 2 weeks old ๐
It just started this today.
