I woke up today and found my UPS was drained and PC off.
The load and battery charge bars both showed empty when I pressed the status button.
I tried plugging it into another outlet that had another working UPS plugged into it, but had the same result.
With nothing plugged into it, it just beeps (2 short beeps, long pause, repeat), and will not charge.
The display shows the following:
upper portion; AC power plug, empty load bar, empty battery bar (flashing)
lower portion; (as I cycle through with display button) 124V input, 124V output, 60Hz output, 0W output load, 0min remaining runtime, and one more that I am guessing is faults which says 0.
The info sheet shows an icon of a battery with an X that should indicate if the battery needs to be replaced, but there is no such icon showing up on my UPS display.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Have you figured what was the issue? I have a Backup XS1300 also did the same to me yesterday and not charging. I looked at the leads and does not look melted but the leads on the battery are a bit discolored. Did the UPS work after replacing the batteries, how did you proceed?

The top line on the sticker seems to be related to the model #, so I'm assuming the bottom line is the serial #.

😞 if you want to give me the first few digits of the serial number, i can help verify the age if you want. we can double check warranty status.

i did a little research here - how old is this UPS?
apparently this situation means the UPS thinks the battery is disconnected and the voltage of that battery is below a certain threshold. most likely this means the battery will need to be replaced because it won't be able to charge back up. i wonder if there was any outage during the night where it ran down the battery so low (and possibly being an older battery), it can't charge back up.

The power had not gone out during the night at all.
I removed the battery pack and found that the connector attached to the black lead on the battery had visible heat damage.
The plastic at the end of the connector had melted a bit, but more worryingly, there was what looked like solder on top of the plastic connector.
The battery pack itself showed no signs of damage, but I am thinking that it may have failed due to the heat that would have done such damage.
Attached it a photo of the connector.
I cannot say for sure how old the UPS is, but it is probably between 2-3 years old.
