APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 not detected when installing PowerChute

I found this guide from a few years ago but I could not find the same bin files.  I am running Windows 10 and have checked usbdeview.  It is currently connected to COM3 but not showing up as a battery backup.  I want to configure the network management card so it can send alerts in the event of a power outage.  I also tried downloading Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port Version: 3.3.3.114 but to no avail.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Please provide the exact model and serial number of the UPS. It will be found on the bar code sticker.

Also, what version of PowerChute are you attempting to install?

Hi,

That UPS will communicate with PowerChute Personal Edition using the USB to RJ50 cable that ships with the UPS. The cable is part number 940-0127

After connecting the cable the system should report found new hardware APC UPS device. Also you should see HID UPS under batteries in the device manager. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA310907

One the cable has been connected and the driver activated you will be able to install PowerChute Personal Edition.

If we no longer have the cable it shipped with, will it work with 940-0127B?

Hi,

Yes. Any 940-0127 cable will work. the letter at the end of the number indicates the cable version.
