APC Back-UPS ES 725

I Have the ES 725 Back-UPS. After a power outage it isn't working properly. When I turn the UPS on the Power Button glows blue for a moment and then turns off. The UPS then begins to emit a high pitched continuous screech until the the UPS it turned off again. I've unplugged everything from the UPS and it still does this. And yes the UPS is plugged into the wall. Is my UPS broken? Do I need an new battery?

I have the same screech on my ES 550...

There are 3 lights, and the one that is lit up while screeching is the top one, above Power On and Replace Battery - so not saying to replace battery ????

Can you tell us the exact model number of your unit and the description of your problem when it happened and any step that you have done to resolve it?
