APC BR1500G UPS Shuts off randomly even when line power is present

I've had 2 BR1500G for about 6 months now. One unit started to periodically shut off my PC even though AC power was present after a couple months.

Load: 16%
Backup Time: 40 minutes
Event: 13

IIRC, the interval seems to correlate with possibly a bi-weekly self test routine, even though I have since removed the Power Chute software (APC 3.0 software/driver causes intermittent BSOD) and am relying on native Windows Server 2003 UPS driver. (APC software or not, it should not matter as the UPS is supposed to operate properly with or without the APC software) This was allowed to happen 3 consecutive times, each time interval was found to be constant.

In an effort to isolate the cause, I swapped out the UPS unit for an identical one that I had been using elsewhere in the premise.

Again, after about 2 months, today, my computer encountered another unexpected shutdown without any AC power loss.

Event Viewer shows that there was a 1-2 second delay between computer power loss and the two Low Battery and Critical Battery warnings. The Critical and Low Battery threshold are set very conservatively at 80% and 70% respectively to ensure plenty of time for the shutdown process.

This indicates there was no battery buffer time.

this is very disappointing, please advise.

You need to shut down the ups then you need to hold the power button until the lcd turns back on then the load bar will show you can use the power button to scroll through the sensitivities then after you have made the selection the ups will turn its self off after a few seconds then turn it back on
