I am trying to remove the battery from an APC 1000 model, I've removed the power connections and lowered the front panel but when I try to remove the battery, it doesnt want to move. What else do I have to do to remove and replace the battery in a 1000 model? I've referred to the manual which tells you to grab the tab at the front and pull (which I did and the battery didnt come out,) so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

This was in fact a swollen battery. It took some prying but was able to finally get it out. Thank you for the response.

Hi Doug,
Can you reply back with the exact model number of the little white sticker on the back of the UPS?
If you try to look in the bay at the top or sides of the battery does it seem to be swelled at all?
Thank you.
