I have 4 Small UPS APC units around my house all clicking at the same time and sometimes actually beeping, Power seems to be fine all my lights are on not flickering and Air Conditioning system is off. I have had my LCD tv turn off during the clicking of the ups units and it is connected to one. It comes and goes it is not constant. Has anyone experienced anything like this ?
I have had our local power company out to look and all they say is it is strange and It is not them.
Is there software i could run to check what is happening inside the APC?

thanks for the info
Is it possible that a tv could be damaged by this type of activity?
I had a LCD tv last week blow up smoke came out of it.
And it was connected to a ups. Can these distortions get past ups units?

It is possible but very uncommon. It does depend on the filtering capabilities of the UPS. If you had a piece of equipment damaged while connected to a UPS, please call 800-890-4272 to speak to a representative to setup a claim under our Equipment Protection Policy. Our units have this policy to cover events such as a tv smoking while connected to one of our units.
Thanks.

Actually it was conneted to an APC but it was brand new so i returned it to costco and got a new one. Since then i have had the tv turn off one more tme and that was durring all the APC units in the house clicking and beeping. I have connected my laptop up to all of them and have lowered the sensitivity to medium from high and have not noticed any issues i did notice the apc connected to the tv with issues was only 34 % charged?? even though i had it plugged in for a week. Maybe it was discharging all the time because it was on high sensitivity is all i can think.

It sounds like the incoming AC power was experiencing distortion and that is the reason for the clicking. If the clicking continues, you can always turn the sensitivity all the way down to "Low". As for the low battery charge, probably what happened is the battery has been discharged due to the distorted incoming AC power. When the unit is clicking, it is going from online to on battery operation, and could have resulted in a discharged battery.
I would recommend just leaving the UPS plugged in for 24+ hrs and then check that battery charge %.
Thanks.
