unit was shutdown when there on boost and trim

hi guys

SU2200 was shutdown when there on Boost or Trim and there a clicking sound like a relay.
The set up was 2 units of SU220I was supply by genset if ever the main supply will fail, 208 VAC supplying to the UPS from the Genset.
My question why the units was shutdown when they are on Boost and Trim. Second if the Unit in boost and trim operation is the battery power was consumed but the unit or the load?
Thanks in advnace;..

If possible, could you pls ask your client to install the software via the serial cable and check why the UPS shutsdown when it is in AVR mode?

Hi Hanz,

The Smart UPS will not use its battery when it is in AVR mode. Do you have the management software installed to monitor the UPS in question? If so, can you post the event and data logs which were recorded by the software before and after this AVR event? Secondly, how old is the unit? have the batteries ever been replaced in the unit? Does this unit provide adequate backup power when there is a power failure?

Hi Bala

So this is confirm that when the UPS was in AVR ( Boost and Trim ) they are not using the battery, The unit is quite old, i never had the change to get the serial number of the unit. They don't have any monitoring software installed thats why i ask the POC to down load the PCBE agent from the APC website so that we can monitor the unit and get data and event log, the point of contact no idea the history of the unit. Yes if the going to unplug the supply the unit goes to battery mode around 15 min the back up time.
But there issue is if that UPS goes on AVR due of Genset supplying the UPS it will shutdown the UPS. Normal mains supply from our Country 220VAC, then there Genset 208VAC

Hanz,

What lights are on the front of the UPS when the Genset power is provided to the UPS?

Please check whether the UPS works on battery or in AVR mode. Please note that the UPS will transfer to battery whenever the input power is not within acceptable range.
