I have windows 8.1 x64. I installed powerchute and my power icon is now missing. I tried uninstalling powerchute but it did not uninstall properly. I reinistalled and uninstalled and it seemed ok, but still no power icon on the task bar.
unfortunately I do not have a restore point to go back to.
any ideas?

Hi,
Just down load Reset Notification Area Icons Cache.bat from Notification Area Icons - Reset - Windows 7 Help Forums
and run the application. It will remove the notification.
Note: you must reboot you computer to complete the clean up.

Hi,
After installing PowerChute the power icon is replaced by the PowerChute icon and APC USB driver in enabled. The re-enable HID USB driver that will in turn enable Windows battery power options follow the instruction in Knowledge Base document FA159743
