snmp OID to pull out the UPS Load on the Smart-UPS 1000 ?

On the Smart-UPS 3000 I am able to use the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0 to pull out the UPS Load.

But this OID does not work on the Smart-UPS 1000.

Does any one knows the correct OID to pull out the UPS Load on these Smart-UPS 1000 ?

Thank you

Antonio Feijao

What response did you receive from upsAdvOutputLoad on the Smart UPS 1000 specifically?

What does the web or telnet/SSH interface show for the current load percentage? This value would be the load percentage and should work on majority of UPS models.

Hi Angela

on the webpage show the correct load, 13% when I checked, but the OID does not work for this UPS model, so I was wondering if someone knew the correct OID to use with the UPS 1000 serias

----------------------------this is OK ----------------------

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public ***IP****...123 .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.4.2.2.1.5.1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.4.2.2.1.5.1 = STRING: "Smart-UPS 3000"

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public **IP**.123 .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0 = Gauge32: 43

----------------------------- this with UPS RT 1000 is NOT OK ------

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public ***IP***.124 .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.4.2.2.1.5.1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.4.2.2.1.5.1 = STRING: "Smart-UPS RT 1000 XL   "

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public ***IP***.124 .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0 = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID

Thank you

Ok, you did not mention it was an RT and I should've asked embarassed since we have a regular 1000 and then Smart UPS RT 1000. I have an explanation I can provide to you now that I understand model it is.

In NMC1 v2.5.3 or lower firmware, the OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0) for upsAdvOutputLoad, was retrieving the UPS output wattage value. However, in NMC1 (AP9617/18/19) or NMC2 (AP9630/31) v2.6.4 or higher, the OID started retrieving the VA value instead with SURT series.

The SURT 1000/2000 does not support certain data values, so these two don't report Iout amps, even though the larger SURT models do. They will however report % Wattage without issue.

Because of these, the SNMP value reading from upsAdvOutputLoad shows 0 with SURT1000/2000 when the NMC is running the firmware v2.6.4 or higher.

With NMC2 sumx APP v5.1.5 or higher, the percentage of VA and output current have been properly removed from all interfaces including the web, CLI, and datalog. In SNMP, that means that output current SNMP OIDs (upsAdvOutputCurrent and upsHighPrecOutputCurrent) are no longer supported and will report back No Such Name.

For output load OIDs (upsAdvOutputLoad and upsHighPrecOutputLoad), the highest percent VA, if supported, or percent watts, across all output phases, gets reported. This is true regardless of the UPS communication language.

So, to help further, what model management card are you using and what is the firmware on it?

I don't have one of these readily available or else I would just check but I am thinking we should check everything else under upsAdvOutput and upsHighPrecOutput and see what works. Otherwise, if this is super critical and you wanted it, we'd have to downgrade your firmware which I would not recommend just for this cause you'll probably run into other issues.

I might be able to track one down shortly to verify myself.

Edit: So here in NAM I have an SURTA1500XL I tracked down with an AP9619 (same NMC firmware as your AP9618) which I thought was the same UPS-wise and I put a load on it and upsAdvOutputLoad is reporting back 80 (%). It must be different than the XLI model you have...?

Hi,

no, not having this feature is not critical, I was just wondering if there was a correct OID to collect this information on this versions. Your explanation are very clear, so thank you for that. Your help was very useful.

Thank you and enjoy your weekend wink

Sorry, before going to weekend, I saw that you have edited your reponse

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public **IP**.124 | grep upsAdv

( I got no results. on this command...) I not sure if a can run oid in the command line without the ....1,.1.1.1.1 numbering convention... can you provide the OID number that you were using there ?

thank you

.3 (load) and .4 (Current) didn't work... so there now solution to get the Load in this UPS ? (Apart from downgrade the firmware)

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public ***IP*** .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.1.0 = Gauge32: 229

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public ***IP*** .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.2

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.2.0 = Gauge32: 49

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public ***IP*** .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.3

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.3 = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public ***IP*** .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.4

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.4 = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID

I guess not...? Strange why the domestic model here does respond to the upsAdvOutputLoad OID but yours does not. Nevermind the fact that yours displays it in the web UI but not via SNMP. Part of it might have to do with you having an older card too so an NMC2 might display this value via SNMP for your UPS model. I don't suppose you have an AP9630/31 to test with in this UPS just to see if it responds?

Since I don't have an SURT1000/2000XLI, I'd say just walk the entire UPS tree or look at it with a MIB browser and see what you get. I can do that there on my SURTA1500XL and I would do it to give you answer but mine is different apparently cry
