I just recentlly purchased replacement batteries for my SmartUPS 2200. It shows fully charged, but the runtime is only about 7 minutes. This UPS at it's current load used to be 45 minutes. any suggestions?

UPS is still making calculations based on predicted runtime of your old battery. Let your new battery pack charge overnight, then find a dummy load between 500-750W that doesn't fluctuate much. We like to use space heaters(low setting is around 750w) and halogen work lights.

Before you start it, disable the audible alarm in PowerChute.

Kill the power to UPS and let the dummy load run on battery until it shuts itself off completely. You can unplug the dummy load and plug your normal loads back in. Do this when you can charge it up right away. Don't start this at the end of Friday, then leave the battery pack discharged until Monday morning. The runtime before total shut down should be as long as you would expect for that amount of load. If not, you bought yourself a dud battery pack.

After you let it charge overnight again, readout should be far more accurate. If it isn't, call tech support and they'll give you the alternative steps.

One point to keep in mind is that you should stop Powerchute from running and disconnect the serial cable when performing this step. If Powerchute is running, it can receive a false low battery signal, which shuts down the server which then turns off your UPS. This causes the cabibration to fail.

If you have any questions let me know.
