one short beep every 3-30 minutes
Hello, I have a new Smart -UPC 1000. The server is connected using the supplied USB cable. UPS emits random short beep (approximately every 3-30 minutes). Because the UPS is placed in an office need this beep off. What is it causing? The display is (at the moment of beep) no any change, also see no log entry that would explain it. Thank you in advance for your help. Petr

Hello,
My best guess is that the UPS is switching to a "mode" that emits a beep very briefly so it is a short beep/condition that does not persist. For example, it could be switching to battery mode or overload for 1 second or less - both of which would emit a tone.
What is connected to the UPS? I would make sure you don't have something like a laser printer if this is located in an office. Those are known to overload UPSs when they heat up. If there are power blips or short bursts of electrical noise, it may be briefly switching to battery and back online.
As a start to manage the power blips/electrical noise theory, you could try lowering the sensitivity setting on the UPS to see if that helps.
On the USB connection - are you using Operating System native support, PowerChute, or something else? Depending on the duration of the event, it is feasible it is not being logged.
