First of all, sorry for my bad English.
Recently I've bought APC Smart UPS SC1000I 1000VA 230V. UPS is charging the batteries and inverter seems to work fine as well. When UPS operates on batteries, the output seems OK. The problem is that although utility voltage exists, it still switch to battery mode.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The outlet voltage is good.
APC SC1000 UPS is equipped with serial port only. As far as I read on the web, it has some specific interface. So attaching ordinary serial data cable will not be the case to manage the UPS. In fact I've already tried to connect UPS with modified serial cable (http://pinoutsguide.com/UPS/apc_smart_cable_pinout.shtml), unfortunately with no success.

Hello,
Thanks for the video! The easiest thing to do in order to figure out why the UPS is running on battery will be to connect a data cable (serial or USB) and use PowerChute Business Edition Agent to see what the status of the UPS is. It will likely show voltage readings and hopefully give us an idea of what's going on. If it is easier and you haven't done it already, you can also try the UPS in a different location/circuit but I imagine you verified the outlet the UPS is connected to has good voltage?

I was thinking, I think this UPS comes with a serial to USB adapter. But yes, you're right, it only physically has a DB-9 serial port and it requires APC serial cable part number 940-0024 or 940-1524 either with or without a USB to serial adapter. The serial cable at least should've shipped with the UPS. If you get creative, maybe you can find or build one
Sometimes the UPS could "see" something not visible to the naked eye, like electrical noise, or it could erroneously read 0V when you do actually have good voltage.
