Why do you insist on using such old versions of PCNS? Why not use V5.2, since it's the latest version?

I'm not running any VMware, but I have V5.2 installed on server running 2012R2. It works fine and there were no issues whatsoever installing or configuring it. If I were you, I would try it and see if it works.
