APC 3000 error of faulty battery tested and replaced battery so it not the batteries how can I reset the UPS so it stops reporting error and red led goes off.

Hi David,
After you replace the batteries, you have to run a battery self test on the UPS. To do this, you can log into the management card and issue the command, or you can hold down the test button on the UPS LED display in the picture. Hold it until the online LED (the solid green one on top left with a sine wave under it) blinks and let go.
If you already did this, you'll want to make sure you let the UPS charge the batteries for several hours (8-10) and then try again in case the battery you got was slightly discharged.
Side note: If your Network Management Card web interface is blue and white, go to the UPS tab->Diagnostics. If it is green and white interface, go to Tests->UPS menu to issue the test.
