command file fails test: help writing a cmd file

i am using an APC Smart UPS 1500VA USB & Serial 230V (SUA1500i), having trouble to get the command file to shutdown my computer during testing.

I assume that with default.cmd selected in the APC PowerChute Business Edition Deluxe - shutdown sequence dialog, when i hit Test, my computer should shut down.

Please let me know if i am wrong, because i am thinking that if it doesnt shut, then my UPS will not gracefully shut down my OS during/in case of power failure.

it seems that i am supposed to write a command file and manually activate it, but i do NOT know how to script these kind of files as yet. So can i get some help to get my UPS to function properly?

I am assuming that APC reps on this forum are the people who can and are able to help me.

Is that a correct assumption?

Hi minimal, the test command feature you are referring to is for custom written command files, not the default used to shut down your computer in case of a power outage and battery discharge. The only way to test that would be to have the software installed, the shutdown parameters configured and then a battery discharge until the corresponding shutdown occurs. Hope this helps.
