I have tried logging in via web interface, hyper terminal and telnet
No method works. When I use the web interface, I log in with apc/apc and its responds with system booting but then just goes back to the log in screen.
When using telnet after i enter the username and then the password the username prompt comes up again as does the password if I re-enter the username. The same behavior is evident when using
Hyper Terminal as well. The status LED is green and the link LED is flashing Orange. Why can't I connect to make changes to the configuration?

It sounds like the card is rebooting constantly. I need to know the model of the NMC please. Also, what model of UPS is this installed in? Is this brand new?
I'd remove the network jack and see if any change. Otherwise, we need to try to log in quickly and either check the event log or if you can afford it, we can reset it to defaults. Depending on the model, I'll give you the appropriate instructions to accomplish that but it will wipe out any existing settings.

It is a Smart-UPS 2200XL-RM with an AP9630 card
