can't ftp .bin files to network management card

Hello all. I'm trying to upgrade the firmware to our network management card AP9618. The firmware only comes in .bin files, so I'm trying to ftp them to the card. Here's what's happening:

ftp> bin
200 TYPE Command okay.
ftp> put apc_hw05_aos_501.bin
200 PORT Command okay.
150 File status okay; about to open data connection.
426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.
ftp>

I can "get" files fine. I'm using default username and password of apc, I haven't changed the admin user yet. It's not a firewall issue, I've already ruled that out. Could it be a permissions issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

look for version 3.5.8 on the website - sumx for smart ups or matrix and sy for symmetra single phase. if its a three phase unit, like a symmetra px, it should be sy3p.

Welcome to the APC Forum Jeremy.

Are you uploading the 5.0.1 firmware on your AP9618? If you are, unfortunately it wouldn't work that firmware is intended for our latest network management card which is AP9630 and AP9631.

Yup that's right, sorry I forgot to mention about it. Try this link, [https://www.apc.com/tools/download/index.cfm?tsk=] it should take you to the APC software/firmware download page. On the first drop down box select Firmware Upgrades - Network Management Card and click submit. It should give you all the latest firmware that we have and again you should check on what UPS this card was installed. For example if this card is attach to a Matrix or Smart-UPS the part number for your download is SFSUMX358. The SFSUMX501 won't work with NMC1, it is for NMC2 only.
