Hi,
This may be a dumb question, but just want to make sure before having to setup and test everything.
If I have a single ESXi host and install PCNS on a VM on that host, will we encounter any problems?
No problems == We would want PCNS to gracefully shut down the other guest VMs before shutting itself and the host down.
Per scenario B in Application Note 180, it seems like this would be just fine, but I am not running vCenter Server (not sure if that makes a big difference here).
The general topology would be UPS + NMC -> Network <- Single ESXi Host (w/ Guest VMs and PCNS VM).
Thank you!

Hi,
Did you install the PowerChute Appliance which is CentOS 7 with PCNS 4.2? If so you would configure for single ESXi host. PowerChute will tell the host to power down and the host will tell the VMs to power down. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA159688

Excellent!
I will indeed be using the CentOS7 OVA.
Thank you, sir!
