Hi guys.
I am receiving various results in researching this topic. I have maximum 400W that I would like to power for around 2 hours or so. Some results say that any UPS will only run for minutes instead of hours. But on APC website, I typed in my criteria and it states that the Smart-UPS 750 and 1000VA would run that amount for about 3 hours.
Is this true or what is the real truth?
Thanks

Hi Eicker,
You can add battery packs to certain units like the SMX series. Units like the SMT you cannot, so it is always good to find that out if you are looking for that feature prior to buying. The run time charts are always a good place to check.
Glad I could help,

Hi Eicker,
Where exactly are you seeing that? On the product page of the SMX750, the predictive run time graph shows that at a load of 400 watts, the battery could last for 26 minutes. If you wanted to achieve a run time of an hour and 46 minutes, you would need an SMX750 with a single extended run battery pack (SMX48RMBP2U). If you wanted to extend that run time further, you could purchase a second battery pack.
This link should aid you: https://www.apc.com/products/runtime_for_extendedruntime.cfm?upsfamily=165

Hi Jordan.
I get it on http://www.apc.com/tools/ups_selector/ and enter the criteria as the ask. I will follow up with your web link and see it says. Thank you for that. I didnt know you could add more than one battery pack.
Much appreciated.
Eicker
